Puppy Classes
Enrolling in a puppy class may be the single best thing you can do for your puppy.

Having a well-rounded, sociable dog is important for all family members.

What are puppy classes?

The goal of each puppy class is to properly utilize the puppy's socialization period. The socialization period is a particular stage of mental development in which all experiences during that time frame determine the dog's attitude toward those situations later in life. This crucial stage of development occurs from approximately 4-14 weeks of age.
Puppies that are not exposed to very many positive things during their socialization period may grow to be very fearful or even aggressive. Our goal is to help your dog become a happy, well-rounded, sociable canine citizen.

In other words...

Another, perhaps easier way to understand the need for puppy classes is to think of them like a "vaccine" for preventing behavior problems. Behavior problems are the number one cause for the relinquishment of pets. By enrolling your puppy in a puppy class, you can prevent future behavior problems while also strengthening your bond with your dog.
In this puppy class, your dog will be exposed to various, potentially "scary" things in a controlled, positive environment.

We use only positive reinforcement. Please- no choke chains or pinch collars.

What else will my dog learn in a puppy class?

Aside from focusing on socialization, your dog will also learn the basic commands necessary for everyday life. Not only do we help to teach your dog these important life skills , but we also teach you how to teach your dog a variety of behaviors and tricks.
Other puppy class topics include housetraining, preventing destructive behavior, bite inhibition, preventing certain types of aggression, and much, much more!
